10.35 - 11.25am : Making Flex-BlazeDS Networking Reliable -- Yakov Fain Wall Street applications must be reliable. Loosing a trade order is not an option. But using free and open source BlazeDS for Flex/Java communications doesn’t guarantee 100% of all your clients’ orders will reach the destinations. This talk is an overview of networking problems of Flex-BlazeDS enterprise applications with the demo of the error-emulating protocol, which concludes with introducing of reliable AMF channels.

2.30 - 3.20pm : Using Fiber without robbing the bank -- Victor Rasputnis In this session you will learn how to generate complete Company/Associates CRUD Flex/BlazeDS applications based on Hibernate on the Java server side. Clear DataBuilder Eclipse plugin will assist us in annotating Java interface and no more Java coding will be required. You will see remote lazy loading of the collections, server-less transactions controlled from the client and, of course, integration with Adobe Fiber - a model-driven development environment of Adobe LCDS.
3.30 - 4.20pm : Designing With States & Transitions in Flex 4 -- Jesse Warden See how to take a visual design and put it into Flex. Jesse will show how to utilize states and transitions in Flash Catalyst, Flash Builder, and the Flex SDK. He'll also briefly show you how integrate these View's with common Presenter design patterns in popular frameworks.

10 - 10.50am : Automating Functional Testing With FlexMonkey -- Stu Stern FlexMonkey is a free and open source tool that records and plays back user interactions with Flex applications, making it easy to automate functional testing of Flex, AIR, and hybird HTML/Flex applications. In this session we will explore the capabilties of FlexMonkey for recording, editing, playing back, and verifying the results of automation scripts. We'll also see how FlexMonkey generates ActionScript-based scripts that can be extended to handle even the most complex usage scenarios, and how we can easily integrate FlexMonkey tests into unit test suites and continuous integration builds. Finally, we'll see how FlexMonkium, the FlexMonkey plugin for Selenium can be used to add Flex automation capabilities to the popular Selenium open source web testing tool.

What does it offer you as a Flex Developer? How does it relate to the old way of doing things? This session will answer those questions. It’ll will dissect the Flex 3 component architecture (Halo) and explain how the Flex 4 component architecture (Spark) changes things. Along the way we’ll compare and contrast with some samples.
